Flash Fiction

Fancy yourself as the next Alexander McCall Smith? Are you a budding Zadie Smith?

This is a call for all aspiring fiction writers to get their thinking caps on and their typing fingers at the ready. The Three Lochs Festival is running a Flash Fiction competition with cash prizes of up to £50.

Wikipedia calls the genre "fiction of extreme brevity" and our 250 word limit is sure to tax participants' writing and editing skills. There's no set theme or style to adhere to, all we ask is that you keep to the 250 word limit and pay £3 for each entry submitted. You can enter as many times as you like - provided you enclose your entry fee each time.

You can download an entry form in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF and get the full rules here.

Closing date is Friday, 6th August 2010.

Good luck!
